Hello!
United for Literacy is preparing to run math and literacy-based programs for elementary and high school students from January - March and we are looking for volunteer tutors 16 years old and older.
A little about the programs we are running this year:
- In-Person Math Clubs (in community school) is a program where students and volunteers play math games to enhance the skills of the learners in a fun and exciting way (Tuesdays 10:30am - 11:30am)
- Plot Twist! A Creative Writing Quest is a program where students and volunteers will play word-related games and work on creating poems and stories. (Thursdays 4:00pm - 5:00pm)
As part of our screening and training process, you will need to start by filling out our Volunteer Inquiry Form here. This will begin an online file in our secure database; once I receive notification I will send you some more information from our system to fill out your application form.
Other steps included in our screening process include reference checks (we do call, so please ensure you have permission), online orientation, a knowledge check, and initial training. More information will come once your Inquiry Form is received.
