The Volunteer Client Coach supports clients in developing practical job readiness skills through individualized or small group sessions. This may include resume support, job search tools, industry specific support, and general employability skills.
The volunteer will be working within the Spark office. This role is best suited to someone who enjoys 1-1 support, is patient, enjoys teaching, helping others, and has good attention to detail. The volunteer will need to have basic computer skills, the ability to help write resumes and cover letters, and/or the ability to assist in the creation and editing of LinkedIn profiles.
If bus or Gova passes are required they can be provided, if the volunteer is using their personal vehicle mileage reimbursement can also be provided. Volunteers will be required to obtain a Vulnerable Sector Check which will be reimbursed, they will also have to complete orientation. This position requires an English speaker, preferably French bilingual.
This role directly translates to Spark’s overall mission because the volunteers will be providing individualized learning solutions and preparing the clients for the work force.
