Who We Are

Habitat for Humanity operates non-profit home improvement retail stores across our region called Habitat ReStore, which sell donated home furnishings, appliances and other renovation materials at a fraction of the original price. The first Habitat ReStore in Canada was opened in Winnipeg, Manitoba in 1991 and the concept has since grown to include hundreds of locations across Canada and the U.S. We currently operate five locations of this social enterprise in the region. It’s a great place for customers to scout out that unique vintage or retro piece for their next DIY design project and save big on furniture, appliances, renovation materials, flooring, lighting, cabinetry, kitchen and bath fixtures, and much more!

What We Do

Habitat for Humanity Ontario Gateway North is one of 1,400 Habitat for Humanity affiliates worldwide sharing a common vision and social purpose. Our Vision is a world where everyone has a safe and decent place to live. Our Mission is to bring communities together to help families build strength, stability and self-reliance through affordable home ownership. In support of our homebuilding, we operate retail home improvement stores called Habitat ReStore. Our 5 locations across our region sell new and used donated home furnishings, appliances, and renovation materials to the public at a fraction of the original price. Habitat ReStore collects donations from the community, and proceeds from sales help cover the cost to build Habitat homes.
