Service Name: Hand Hygiene Observer and Promotion Program
When: Flexible timing within the month to suit your schedule.
Procedure/Description: Hand Hygiene visits needed to help continue to maintain the importance of hand hygiene within a resident/patient caregiver setting in the promotion of proper hand hygiene practices. Proper hand hygiene protects residents/patients and care providers by reducing the spread of infections and preventing deaths.
Training is provided to overview:

The Hand Hygiene Program including the moments when hand hygiene should occur,

The importance of Hand Hygiene in infection control,

Provision of direction as to how to make an observation and how to use the observation tool.
