Special Olympics Ontario - Sudbury is looking for volunteers to support our Bingo at Delta Bingo and Gaming off Notre Dame.
Your roles and responsibilities at the Delta Gaming provide direct funding to our organization and enables us to provide opportunities for sport and social connection to persons with special needs in Sudbury.
During your shift as a Bingo Volunteer you can expect to participate in the following manner:
ARRIVAL
- Sign in (legibly) to the log book
- Be ready for your scheduled start time.
- Read any notices or memos posted in the charity room
HOSTING
- Stand near entrances and greet / welcome customers as they arrive
- Open doors and be friendly
- Welcome customers to the facility
- Thank them (especially as they leave) for their support of your charity
- Walk new players to the sales area and introduce to staff
DURING SESSION BINGO
- Customer Service
- Assist in calling back winners to caller
- Identify paper winners for payment (table flag with receipt from Advisor counter)
- Keep environment clean Used bingo paper / product Empty cups, plates, etc. (buckets for liquids can be found in charity room) Recycle as much as possible (all bins except black are recycled. Put food and non-recyclables in black bins)
- Assist with execution of promotions when asked (hand out ballots, etc.)
- Work as a team with staff - customer service is the goal
INTERMISSION
- Have one volunteer go to TapTix Lounge to assist. Second volunteer stays on bingo floor for Customer Service
- Help customers with gaming products as needed
- Keep environment clean

* Volunteers must be 18 years of older for this position
* Volunteers are provided a Special Olympics t-shirt to wear during their shifts
* Dress must be business casual. This includes black pants or dresses (no jeans, track pants, stretch pants, shorts or capris). Shoes need to be appropriate (no flip-flops or sandals) and no hats are allowed.
** Volunteers must complete the orientation through Delta Bingo ** This training will be scheduled with you upon your response.
